missing the bay...

The Bay Area will always hold a special place in my heart...

the people we met
the opportunities we were blessed with
the sites we saw
the restaurants we stuffed our bellies with
the place where I was introduced to this craft that I love so very much!!!

For CHA Winter in LA the gals over at My Little Shoebox got together and we created aprons featuring the new collections and I was lucky enough to get to create one for the City By The Bay line. So with the help of my dear scrappy friends who know how to sew {I staple using the Tiny Attacher... thank you Tim Holtz!} this special City By The Bay apron came to life...
A close up of the bridge...
The very talented Pattie Beltran came up with a brilliant idea on how to construct the bridge and using the City By The Bay - Potrero Hill, Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back Canvas and a little extra bling from Tattered Angels Red Apple Glam... this bridge just sparkles!!!
The sun was made using the back side of the City By The Bay - Potrero Hill and was embellished with the new Sun Sisters and Marmalade Glimmer Mist. The Sticky Back Canvas clouds were done using Teal High Heel Glimmer Mist and the white mini alphas... these were so much fun to make and using the same technique here.

In honor of my love for the Bay Area, I would like to know a city that holds a special place in your heart...

Leave me a comment with your city and one lucky winner will take home the entire City By The Bay collection... STAMPS TOO!!!
The winner will be announced on Monday, April 11th!!!

Creative Cheers!

  1. This is beautiful, Nicole! My husband worked on a project in San Francisco for a year before we were married. It's a beautiful area, and I have fond memories of our time there. What a lovely reminder of the Bay area this apron is! Love the creative work with the bridge, and the ruffles are awesome. TFS, and thanks for the chance to win!

  4. Beautiful apron! The place that holds a special place to me is my hometown! I know that sounds silly because I was born here, but I was raised about 3,000 miles away from here. When I graduated, I moved back....and fell in love with my now husband and have 2 beautiful boys. Had I not moved back, I wouldn't have been so lucky! I feel truly blessed!

  7. I've been wanting to do aprons for work and this has inspired me. My favorite town is Hilo, HI. I miss living so close to the beach, the rainforest, the mountains, the desert, the plains... yep, the Big Island has so muchto offer:)

  10. I was in San Fran long enough to drive over the bridge, and do a little stuff on the pier in 1986, on my way to the Philippines. I was born and raised in South Dakota, one of the things we are famous for is the Corn Palace - you should Google it, because it's hard to explain, but every year they decorate the building by hand with corn, stalks, and grasses from SD with many designs - very cool to us on the prairie !

  12. What a great apron! I still don't know how you put paper on fabric. I was looking at the CHA photos and just loved the aprons that all the ladies wore.

  13. Palm Coast, Florida has a special place in my heart. It's not to small but not too big, if you know what I mean. And we are close to the beach! It's a great place to raise our 2 kids!
